On June 5, 1994, the San Diego Padres came into Joe Robbie Stadium to face the Florida Marlins. Down 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Florida loaded the bases against Andy Ashby. That brought up shortstop Kurt Abbott who jumped on Ashby’s first pitch, sending it over the wall for a grand slam. This was Abbott’s first grand slam and he used this bat to do it. The Louisville Slugger C271 model bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. Abbott’s number “7” is written on the knob and barrel in black marker and he has signed and inscribed the barrel with “To Mike My First Major League Grand Slam Off Andy Ashby 6-5-94.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13267) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a COA from JSA (V16330) for the signature. There is also a LOA from Kurt Abbott.
