Mariano Rivera was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 as the only person in the history of the sport to receive a unanimous vote of 100%. His career was not always perfect however and he came from very humble beginnings in Panama playing baseball with a cardboard box for a glove Rivera once claimed. After being signed as an International free agent in 1990, Rivera quickly ascended through the minor leagues, briefly stopping with the Albany Colonie Yankees from June to July of 1994, mostly the same time as Hall of Fame teammate Derek Jeter.
This 1994 folding Albany Colonie scorecard features three signatures on the cover, including a bold pre-rookie era signature of Mariano Rivera. The scorecard does not have a specific opponent but clearly dates to the 1994 season and more specifically to June-July during Rivera’s brief stint with the team. The signature is nearly flawless and a candidate for a Mint or better grade. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
