Presented here is a 1994 Michael Jordan game used set of Nike cleats that come directly from the personal collection of George Koehler, who is a long-time associate of Michael Jordan dating back to when Jordan joined the Bulls in 1984, having originally been his limousine driver, then his personal assistant and friend. Koehler was also part in the popular ESPN documentary The Last Dance. Jordan sent shock waves through the sporting world in October of 1993 when he announced he was tired of basketball and was retiring. Despite winning his third straight NBA title with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan had had a rough year in 1993 after his father was murdered, and decided to pursue professional baseball, which was his father’s original dream for his son. Jordan signed with the Southside White Sox in February of 1994 and played for the AA Birmingham Barons and manager Terry Francona that season.

These all-black Nike cleats are made of black leather with a ballistic mesh tongue and foam padded ankle supports. These cleats display excellent game use with dirt and white chalk marks present, particularly present on the lower sides. These size 13 ½ cleats have black hard rubber undersoles with six metal spikes on each shoe. The heels have Jordan’s number “45” embroidered in white and above the numbers are the Nike Airman logo. The cleats are a high-top style and have white borders around the tops of the ankles. The laces are white and Jordan has signed the outside of the right shoe in silver marker. Jordan signed his name on a heavily chalked portion of the cleat. These cleats come with a LOA from George Koehler, who states in his LOA that these items came directly from his personal collection and were received directly from Michael Jordan. Additionally, there is a LOA from J.T. Sports with corresponding holograms (1256 & 1257) and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A40367) for Jordan’s signature.
