During the franchise’s first season in Colorado, after relocating from Quebec as the Nordiques, the Avalanche won the 1996 Stanley Cup behind the stellar goal tending of mid-season acquisition Patrick Roy and clutch scoring of Joe Sakic.
This is a personal Stanley Cup trophy that stands 13 inches tall. Designed like the original, the front is engraved with “COLORADO AVALANCHE 1995-96” and lists all the owners, staff and players of the championship team with notable names that include Pierre Lacroix (Exec. V.P. & G.M.) Marc Crawford (Head Coach), Joe Sakic (Captain), Patrick Roy, Claude Lemieux, Peter Forsberg, Adam Foote, Uwe Krupp and Adam Deadmarsh. The trophy shows tarnishing from age with some minor dings in the black base - otherwise it is in very good condition and presents well. A true piece of hockey history.
