New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter wore this cap circa 1995-96, his rookie years. Jeter debuted in 1995, playing a scant 15 games with the Yankees and batting .250 with seven RBI. It was in 1996 that the former first round draft pick broke out, hitting a solid .314 with 10 homers and 78 RBI. Jeter’s spectacular rookie campaign earned him a unanimous American League Rookie of the Year selection, and he continued his torrid play into the postseason. Jeter hit .361 across the playoff series, leading the Yankees to the 1996 World Series title, the first of his five career championships. Jeter would play for the Yankees until 2014, retiring as the team’s all-time leader in hits (3,465), doubles (544), stolen bases (358), and more.
