Throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s, Chipper Jones was among the best third baseman in baseball, a perennial All-Star who could hit for both power and average. In 2018, Jones was honored with induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, finding a spot in Cooperstown on his first ballot. The Atlanta Braves superstar compiled a .303 batting average for his career while crushing 468 home runs. Jones led the Braves to a World Series title in 1995, and claimed the 1999 National League MVP Award with a Triple Crown slash of .319/45/110. Jones, the 2008 National League batting champ, retired after the 2012 MLB season.
In 1995, Jones led the Braves to their first World Series title since the days of Hank Aaron and the Milwaukee Braves, defeating the Cleveland Indians in a six game Fall Classic.
