Before Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. could break Lou Gehrig’s historic consecutive games played streak, he would have to tie him. That’s exactly what Ripken did when he suited up for the 2,130th consecutive time on September 5th, 1995 against the California Angels. These are the very cleats worn by Cal when he tied Lou Gehrig’s historic consecutive games streak on September 5th, 1995. These offered size 11 Nike cleats have the Nike swoosh in orange on the sides and black tongue flaps that have “NIKE” and the swoosh embroidered in orange. “NIKE” and the swoosh are also on the heels in orange and each cleat has six metal spikes. Ripken has signed the outsides of each cleat towards the heel in bold contrasting silver marker and inscribed on each “2130”. A green marker also comes with these shoes that read “2130 SHOES. 96.2.22, a & b.” These cleats display excellent game use with dirt marks and abrasion marks and come directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany these historic cleats.
