September Card & Memorabilia Auction Ending October 2-3rd
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/3/2021
Offered here is a game used Seattle Mariners hat worn by Ken Griffey Jr. circa 1995 and signed by the Hall of Famer with a blue marker. While Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. only played in 72 games during the 1995 season due to a wrist injury suffered in late May, it was his dash across the bases during Game 5 of the Division Series against the New York Yankees on Edgar Martinez' hit, scoring the series-clinching run, that may be one of the most iconic moments in Mariners' history.
This presented blue hat with a teal brim features āSā on the front of the hat. An MLB logo appears on the back of the cap. An MLB AUTHENTIC DIAMOND COLLECTION tag rests on the inside sweatband. A New Era 5950 tag rests on the inside sweatband. A "100% WOOL SIZE 7 1/8 MADE IN U.S.A." tag rests on the inside sweatband. The number "24" appears in blue marker by an unknown hand on the inside brim. Griffey Jr. signed the inside brim of the hat with a blue marker. The number "24" appears above his signature in blue marker inscribed by an unknown hand. The hat displays excellent evidence of game use and contains sweat stains on the inside sweatband, stains on the inside brim, and very faint stains on the top of the cap. The item comes with an LOA from J.T. Sports (1470) for the game use and an LOA from Beckett Authentication (A56262) for the signature.
