No player has had as great an impact on baseball in Seattle as Ken Griffey Jr. A superstar when the franchise was starved for talent, the Mariners would have been forced to relocate had Griffey not invigorated the struggling ballclub. Playing for the Mariners from 1989 to 1999 (and to close out his career in 2009 and 2010), Griffey hit 417 of his 630 career home runs near the shores of the Puget Sound.

Griffey wore this helmet in 1995, during one of the Mariners most memorable seasons. Although limited by injury to only 72 games that season, Griffey was an All-Star and a part of the most significant moment in Seattle Mariners history. Down by a run to the New York Yankees in the bottom of the 11th inning of the final game of the American League Division Series, Griffey reached base on a single while advancing Alex Cora to third. Edgar Martinez cracked a double down the left field line, scoring Cora, with Griffey madly thundering around the bases to score the game and series winning run. This play made Griffey a hero in Seattle, and a superstar to the rest of baseball. This helmet is all navy and the Mariners “S” logo is present on the front of the helmet, while Griffey’s number “24” is applied in white numbers to the back of the helmet. An ABC logo and MLB logo are present beneath the number on this size 7 ¼ helmet. Griffey signed the brim in silver marker. This item, which shows light game use, comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a COA from Beckett Authentication (H39754) for Griffey’s signature.
