While Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. only played in 72 games during the 1995 season due to a wrist injury suffered in late May, it was his dash across the bases during Game 5 of the Division Series against the New York Yankees on Edgar Martinez’ hit, scoring the series-clinching run, that may be one of the most iconic moments in Mariners’ history.
Griffey wore this home white size 46 Russell Athletic home white Seattle Mariners button-down jersey during the 1995 season. This jersey shows light to moderate. “MARINERS” is sewn on across the chest in navy, teal and silver tackle-twill. Navy piping runs along the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The back of the jersey has “GRIFFEY” sewn on in navy blue and teal on a matching white name plate and his number “24” sewn below his name in navy and teal. The right sleeve has a “75th COMMEMORATIVE YEAR THE NEGRO LEAGUES” patch above the navy blue embroidered Russell Athletic logo, while the left sleeve has the circular Mariners logo patch. The Russell Athletic tag and a “95” tag are sewn on the bottom front left tail. This jersey comes with a full COA from Coast To Coast and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
