Mickey Mantle was an obvious choice to be in the first class of Ted Williams' Hitters Hall of Fame. The elite freshman 20, chosen by Ted Williams, included what he considered the best of all time. Each recipient was represented by a custom made marble and wood plaque bearing their likeness and the title "TED WILLIAMS MUSEUM HITTERS HALL OF FAME". This 19 1/2" x 24" plaque was commissioned to honor The Mick. The marble surface features a black and white portrait of Mantle in his rookie season and has the Ted Williams Museum logo superimposed in the lower right corner. The massive plaque has been framed in wood which has been chipped and nicked over time, but still presents well. The back has heavy-duty suspension wire. This plaque represents one Hall of Fame slugger's ultimate tribute to another.
