The late Rashaan Salaam was the 1994 Heisman Trophy winner with the University of Colorado and was selected with the 21st overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. Salaam paid immediate dividends as he rushed for 1,074 yards in his rookie season with 10 touchdowns. Salaam wore this navy Chicago Bears home jersey during the November 5th, 1995 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Soldier Field. Salaam rushed for 63 hard fought yards on 21 carries as the Bears fell to the Steelers 37-34 in overtime. This Champion size 46 mesh jersey displays heavy game use with grass, dirt and paint stains and numerous team repairs. Salaam’s number “31” is sewn on in white and orange tackle twill on the front, back and shoulders. The NFL shield patch is sewn on the base of the rounded collar and Champion “DESIGNED & TAILORED 1995 EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHICAGO BEARS” and Champion size 46 tags are sewn on the base of the front left tail. Orange and white screen-printed stripes, along with a ribbed material stripe on the sleeve ends, along with “GSH” are on the sleeves. “SALAAM” is sewn on in white and orange tackle twill on a matching navy nameplate on the back. This jersey has been photo matched by Real Game Used to the November 5th, 1995 game.
