Of all baseball players, Ted Williams was perhaps the best suited to running a Hall of Fame solely for the greatest hitters of all-time. The last player to hit over .400 in a season, Williams combined hitting for power and average in a way few players could. In 1994, Williams opened the Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame, a shrine to baseball’s most accomplished batsmen. Inductees include Williams’ contemporaries like Joe DiMaggio, legends of yesteryear such as Ty Cobb, and more recent stars, including Andre Dawson and Roberto Alomar.

Presented here is Shoeless Joe Jackson’s Hitters Hall of Fame induction plaque. A legendary player whose career was cut short by the Black Sox Scandal, Jackson’s hitting ability is unimpeachable. Jackson’s career batting average of .356 is the third best in history, and he hit for a .408 mark in 1911. This plaque shows an etched portrait of Jackson, and an image of Jackson swinging a bat. “Joe Jackson / Inducted February 9th, 1995” is etched on the bottom of this plaque and “Ted Williams Museum / Hitters Hall of Fame” is etched on the top. This item comes in a 15 x 17 ½ inch frame.
