As a 21-year-old rookie in 1996, Derek Jeter fit right into what has been called “The Greatest Team of All-Time”. That 1996 New York Yankees club slugged their way back into the post season after a decade and a half drought. Jeter batted .314 for the World Champs and dazzled Yankees fans with his gravity-defying aerobatics in the infield. When all was said and done, Jeter was the obvious choice for the AL Rookie of the Year Award. This offered Louisville Slugger P72 is un-cracked, shows light use and was used by Jeter during the 1996 season. The barrel has several ball marks and bat rack paint streaks along with cleat imprints. A light coat of Mota Stick is on the handle and “DEREK JETER” is stamped on the barrel in block letters. A great gamer from the very beginning of Jeter’s 20-year Hall of Fame-bound career. This bat comes with an LOA from MEARS (315671) for the game use and has been graded an A6.
