Undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. had an unbelievable 50-0 professional record. Mayweather began his professional boxing journey with a TKO win against Robert Apodaca in Las Vegas in October of 1996, amassing 49 more wins capped off by a victory over mixed martial arts legend Conor McGregor in the Irish firebrand’s boxing debut. Mayweather came onto the boxing scene by making the 1996 US Olympic team, where he earned a bronze medal. Many believe he was robbed of a chance at gold when he lost controversially on points 10-9 during his semi-final bout against Bulgarian boxer Serarfim Todorov.

Mayweather, nevertheless, was able to parlay his performance in the 1996 Games to one of the best professional boxing careers of all-time. Offered here is a pair of red trunks used by Mayweather during his 1996 Olympics Featherweight fight against Artur Gevorgyan. Mayweather dominated this Round of 16 bout, decisively beating Gevorgyan of Armenia 16-3 in points and advancing to the quarterfinals. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a match-worn item from Mayweather’s amateur career.

These trunks are made of red satin and manufactured by Adidas. The white waistband has “adidas” printed in white on a black box on the center front and “USA BOXING” is printed in white with their logo on the lower front left leg. On the inside waist is an Adidas size M tag. These trunks show modest surface wear. These shorts come with a LOA from Craig R. Hamilton, who authenticated that Mayweather wore these trunks during the 1996 Olympic Featherweight Boxing match against Artur Gevorgyan.
