Undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. had an unbelievable 50-0 professional record. Mayweather began his professional boxing journey with a TKO win against Robert Apodaca in Las Vegas in October of 1996, amassing 49 more wins capped off by a victory over mixed martial arts legend Conor McGregor in the Irish firebrand’s boxing debut. Mayweather came onto the boxing scene by making the 1996 US Olympic team, where he earned a bronze medal. Many believe he was robbed of a chance at gold when he lost controversially on points 10-9 during his semi-final bout against Bulgarian boxer Serarfim Todorov.

Mayweather, nevertheless, was able to parlay his performance in the 1996 Games to one of the best professional boxing careers of all-time. Offered here is a pair of red boxing shorts used by Mayweather for training as he prepared for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Mayweather would face four fighters, winning three of those matches and this is a wonderful opportunity to own a training-worn item from his amateur career. These red stain TUF-WEAR shorts are tagged with a size “BR-L”, but appear to be small to medium. These red trunks have a white waistband and white stripes down each side. The “TUF-WEAR” tag is on the center waistband in blue and these shorts display heavy wear with soiling and color run on the white waistband, along with soling and wear to the body of the trunks. These trunks come with a full LOA from Craig R. Hamilton for the use by Mayweather in training during the 1996 Olympics.
