Baseball is one of the toughest sports in terms of skill to master. Jim Abbott, who was born without a right hand, defied the odds and pitched for 10 seasons with the California Angels, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. Perfecting the transfer of his glove to his throwing hand after he delivered a pitch, Abbott was a solid pitcher throughout his career and threw a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians in 1993 while pitching for the Yankees.

This navy blue California Angels button down Wilson jersey was worn by Abbott during his last season with the Angels in 1996, his final season with the club. The front of the jersey has an interlocking “CA” sewn on in red and white tackle twill with a silver halo over the “A”. White piping runs around the collar and down both sides of the buttons and on the sleeve ends. The Wilson tag and the white team strip tag that reads “50 96” with the “50” and “2 INCH X-LENGTH” flags are sewn on the bottom front left tail. The inner collar has a white lining and “ANGELS” is embroidered on the left sleeve in red and white. The back of the jersey has “ABBOTT and his number “52” sewn on in red and white tackle twill. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
