United States legend Michelle Akers wore these black Reebok cleats during the semi-finals and finals of the soccer tournament at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics against Norway and China. This was the first time women’s soccer was contested at the Olympics, and the United States were keen to avenge their 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup loss with a gold medal. Akers, playing in the defensive midfield, powered the United States to a 2-1 victories against Norway and China, beginning one of the great rivalries of women’s soccer. Akers scored one goal during this tournament, nailing a clutch penalty kick in the semifinals against Norway to help the USA reach the gold medal match.

These offered Reebok cleats are black, with white Reebok logos located on both sides of the shoes, the lace guards, and the heels. Akers has signed the toe of the right cleat in silver marker, inscribing “#10” and “USA” after her signature. Inscribed on the bottom of the right shoe is “Semis[sic] vs China 2-1”. An inscription is present on the left shoe as well, reading “Semis” and a date. These cleats come with a LOA from Michelle Akers, who states that these cleats were worn for the semi-final and finals. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit the Michelle Akers Horse Rescue & Outreach Inc.
