In 1997 Todd Helton posted the first great rookie season for the Rockies organization, hitting .280 in 35 games for Colorado. The following year he narrowly missed out on the Rookie of the Year honors when he hit .315 with 25 homers. This bat dates to Helton’s earliest days in the majors. Labeled for 1996, Helton used this bat in 1997. The Rawlings 460B model bat displays great game use. The barrel shows several ball marks and scuffs along with bat rack paint streaks, ink transfers and cleat imprints. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and the Rockies star has signed the barrel in black marker, adding his number “19.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18233) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5, along with a letter of provenance from Todd Helton and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A25417) for the signature.
