Presented is a 1996 USA Men’s Olympic Basketball team-signed color photograph from the personal collection of Basketball Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan. The 16 signatures, in black marker in the white margin of the 16 x 20-inch team photo print, include players Shaquille O’Neal, John Stockton, Reggie Miller, David Robinson, Grant Hill, Karl Malone, Anfernee Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, Gary Payton, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Charles Barkley, as well as coaches Jerry Sloan, Clem Haskins, Bobby Cremins and Lenny Wilkens. The 1996 United States men's Olympic basketball team represented the United States at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. The team was led by Basketball Hall of Fame head coach Lenny Wilkens. The USA team won the gold medal for the second straight Olympics. Nicknamed Dream Team III, the team included five players who were Olympic teammates on the original "Dream Team", from the 1992 Olympic basketball tournament: Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, John Stockton, and David Robinson. Gary Payton was a late replacement for the injured Glenn Robinson. At that time, Sloan was the head coach of the NBA’s Utah Jazz. Sloan played 11 seasons in the NBA before beginning a 30-year coaching career, 23 of which were spent as head coach of the Jazz (1988–2011). NBA commissioner David Stern referred to Sloan as "one of the greatest and most respected coaches in NBA history". Sloan was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009. This item comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
