This un-cracked Rawlings Adirondack Model 456B bat was used during Boggs’ 1996 season with the World Champion New York Yankees where he batted .311 and was selected to the last of his 12 All-Star Game appearances. This two-tone black/natural Rawlings bat is made to Boggs’ specifications of 34.75” and 30.4 oz. It has several cleat marks and bears the stitch impressions and ball marks with blue ink transfers one would want on a game-used Wade Boggs bat. Moderate pine tar has been applied to the lower handle while a light coat is present on the center brand part. The model number 456B and order number 401 is stamped into the knob and the weight (32) is written in pen along with his player number (12) hand-written in black marker. Best of all Wade Boggs beautifully signed the bat on the black barrel in contrasting silver ink between the Rawlings logo and the “WADE BOGGS” “YANKEES” imprint. PSA/DNA LOA.
