Brought in to replace Mark McGwire, Jason Giambi made his mark by hitting 80 home runs during the 1997-1999 seasons as the A’s starting first baseman.  In those three seasons, Giambi would bat a solid .301 and combined for 314 RBI. Giambi would go on to win an MVP Award and gain membership in the exclusive 400 Career Home Run Club.

This offered Louisville Slugger H238 model bat was used by Giambi during the 1997-1999 seasons. This bat displays heavy game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers, cleat imprints and bat rack streaks. There is a coating of Mota Stick on the handle and Giambi’s number “16” is hand written in silver marker on the knob. Giambi signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “16”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15259) for the game use. Please note that the consignor did not want to purchase the grading on this bat. However, we can inform all potential bidders that this bat has been pre-certified as a GU 10 by PSA/DNA and if the winning bidder chooses to have this bat graded, it will be guaranteed to receive a GU 10 grade. There is also a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C99680) for his signature.
