Hall of Fame shooting guard and the late Kobe Bryant wore this Los Angeles Lakers home jersey during the 1997-98 NBA season, his second year in the Association. Bryant, still only 19, played in 79 games his sophomore season, making the first of his 18 All-Star appearances. The first round draft pick out of Lower Merion High School averaged 15.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 26 minutes per game, helping to lead the Lakers to a 61-21 record and a spot in the Western Conference Finals as their sixth man.
This Nike size 46 yellow mesh jersey has “LAKERS” and Bryant’s original number “8” sewn on in purple and white tackle twill. The Nike size 46 Team Tag, along with an NBA AUTHENTICS and Lakers logo tags, are sewn on the front left tail. The NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest and the back has “BRYANT” and “8” both sewn on in purple and white tackle twill. The open sleeves and rounded collar are bordered in white/purple/white stripes. The jersey displays moderate game use with some stains on the front below and to the right of the number. This early-career Kobe Bryant gamer comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication for the game use.
