You couldn't have a list of 100 Top sports moment in New York without featuring Keith Hernandez. For a short time in the 1980's Keith Hernandez made New York forget about the New York Yankees, leading the underdog Mets to a memorable World Championship in 1986. His classiness on and off the field led to him being one of the most popular players to every spend time in the city. This award was given in recognition of the special moment in 1986 when the Mets captured the hearts of the greatest city in the world. The award features a 5" tall crystal Empire State Building mounted atop a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 1 3/4" wood base. An engraved plaque on the front reads "New York's Top 100 Sports Moments Madison Square Garden September 11, 1997". The award shows some surface scuffs and dings from age but is solid and complete.
