The great Michael Jordan wore these Air Jordan XII sneakers during the 1996-97 NBA season. Jordan, the 1995-96 NBA MVP, led the NBA in scoring for the second-consecutive year, dropping 29.4 points per game as the Bulls marched to their fifth championship of the Jordan era. The G.O.A.T. added 5.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest for a Bulls team that finished with a 69-13 record and the number one offense in the NBA based on points per game. The Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz in a six-game NBA Finals, with Jordan again winning the Finals MVP. Perhaps Jordan’s greatest moment came in Game 5 of the Finals, the so-called “Flu Game”, when a visibly infirm Jordan racked up 38 points, including the game-deciding three-pointer to put the Bulls up three games to two.

These offered Air Jordan XII sneakers are black and white, with a tan midsole. According to the game experts at MEARS, these sneakers were the same style worn during the May 8th Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 2 against the Atlanta Hawks. The design gathers inspiration from the Japanese Rising Sun Flag. Jumpman logos are sewn on the tongues and heels, with a tag on each heel reading “Jordan / Quality Inspired By The Greatest Ever”. Applied to the lower part of each heel is a red “23”. Jordan has signed both of the size “13” sneakers in black marker. The sneakers come with individual LOAs from PSA/DNA for the signatures (AF05683, AF05684) and a LOA from MEARS (316288) for the game use. Please note, an additional worksheet from MEARS that references the style match from the May 8th, 1997 playoff game will accompany these sneakers.
