In the first of a brief but spectacular two-year run in Toronto, Roger Clemens wore this Blue Jays alternate blue knit Russell Athletic jersey during the 1997 season when he captured the pitcher’s Triple Crown leading the AL in wins (21) ERA (2.05) and strikeouts (264) en-route to his fourth Cy Young award. Clemens name and number 21 in red, white and blue tackle twill are stitched directly onto the back of the jersey. Toronto is sewn onto the jersey across the front with Clemens number 21 also attached on the left breast. A white patch containing “50-97” denoting the size and year respectively is sewn into the inside back collar. The “Russell Athletic” and “Authentic Diamond Collection” size 50 logo tag is attached on the front left tail. A Blue Jays logo patch is attached to the left sleeve while a “Jackie Robinson 50th Anniversary” patch appears on the right. Clean jersey shows light game wear and comes with Grey Flannel Collectibles, LOA and full letter of authenticity from game worn jersey expert Dave Miedema.
