St. Louis Cardinals left fielder Ron Gant wore this jersey during the Cardinals 7-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 4th, 1997. Gant finished this game 2-4 with a double, walk, and two runs scored. This jersey is a throwback to the St. Louis Stars of the Negro National League, an extremely talented team that employed Cool Papa Bell, Mule Suttles, Willie Wells, and countless more stars. This jersey has “ST. LOUIS” sewn across the chest in blue tackle twill, as well as “GANT” and “5” sewn on the back in a similar fashion. This size “48” jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS, who have graded it a perfect A10.
