Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp was drafted in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft with the 12th pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sapp, who played collegiately at Miami, began to turn the fortunes around of the once laughingstock franchise. By 1997, Sapp would earn his first Pro Bowl selection after leading the Bucs to a 10-6 record.

Offered here is the helmet Sapp wore during the 1997 season. This is the first year that the Buccaneers wore this style helmet as they switched from the orange and white color scheme to the red, black and pewter colors. This size L All American helmet is pewter with the Buccaneers logo sticker affixed to each side. The NFL shield logo sticker is affixed to the back. The facemask is black with four horizontal bars and the Riddell chinstrap is still with the helmet. The inside has all of the padding still intact with Sapp’s number “99” sticker affixed to the right of the earhole. This helmet displays outstanding game use with numerous scratches and abrasion marks. This comes with a LOA from PM&G for the game use.
