Great game used and signed bat dating from Mike Piazza’s first 2 seasons with the Mets. Upon coming to New York in 1998, Piazza quickly became the team’s star and after missing the playoffs by a single game in 1998 succeeded the following year, Piazza’s bat being the driving force behind the team’s pennant drive. The Mets popular catcher hit .328 with 32 home runs his first year and .303 with 40 home runs in 1999. This game used Mizuno Pro bat has a crack from the handle into the barrel. The bat matches Piazza’s personal specs of 34.5” length and 31.6oz weight. Wonderful use is evident in the cleat marks, stitch imprints with black ink transfers and ball marks. Blue bat rack streaks can be seen as well. A moderate coat of pine tar covers the mid handle. All-in-all exhibits just the type of wear you’d want on the bat of a future Hall of Fame slugger. Mike Piazza has signed the barrel in black marker between the Mizuno brand mark and endorsement and added the inscription “G/U” after his name. Letter of grading and authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat PSA/DNA GU 8. Multiple images and LOAs available at goldinauctions.com.
