Coach Gregg Popovich’s club stormed through the Western Conference playoffs before defeating the New York Knicks in a decisive five-game NBA Finals. Robinson upped his game in the Finals, averaging 16.6 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as the Spurs claimed their first NBA title. Robinson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
