It took 42 years for a New York Yankees pitcher to equal Don Larsen and throw a perfect game, but David Wells accomplished this feat on May 17th, 1998. Wells completely shut down the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium, guiding the Bronx Bombers to a 4-0 victory while striking out 11 Twins. Bernie Williams provided a hot bat for the Yankees, finishing 3-3 while hitting a solo home run, two doubles, and scoring three runs.

This Gene A. Budig Official American League baseball appears game used, and features 10 signatures. Wells signed the sweet spot of the ball, adding the inscription “5/17/98”. The nine other signatures made up the Yankees lineup that day. The signatures include Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez, Jorge Posada, Darryl Strawberry, Scott Brosius, Chuck Knoblauch, Paul O’Neill, and Chad Curtis. The signatures have been written in blue pen. A full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB12573) accompanies this baseball.
