Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez entered the 1998 season with six straight all-star appearances and Gold Glove Awards. 1998 would be another all-star and Gold Glove season as he hit 21 home runs, had 91 RBI and batted a lofty .321. Rodriguez wore this American Baseball Cap Company (ABC) Texas Rangers all red batting helmet during the 1998 season. This size 7 3/8 helmet displays heavy game use with pine tar remnants on the bill and on the front. The Rangers “T” logo decal is affixed to the front in white and blue. The back of the helmet has Rodriguez’s number “7” decal affixed in red and white.

The inside of this helmet had the back of the head band and the rear head pad removed by Rodriguez, which is a characteristic that has been seen on other Rodriguez gamers. The inside dial indicates that this helmet was manufactured in October of 1997. Rodriguez has signed his name in black marker on the brim. This helmet comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (Z25538) for the signature.
