Perhaps no season was as exciting as 1998’s single-season home run race. All summer, St. Louis’ Mark McGwire, Seattle’s Ken Griffey Jr. and Chicago’s Sammy Sosa battled it out, each striving to break the most famous record in the game – Roger Maris’ 61 home run mark. Big Mac eventually emerged the victor, hitting the record breaking 62nd homer on September 8th and adding eight more by the time the season ended to finish with 70. McGwire used this Rawlings MAC25 bat during that historic summer. The Rawlings MAC25 model bat shows good use with some ball marks and scuffs visible on the barrel. A light coat of pine tar is found on the handle and center brand. This bat comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13716) for the game use.
