Along with Roberto Clemente, Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar is the most successful ball player to come from the island of Puerto Rico. The 12-time All-Star brought two World Championships to Toronto and was ushered into Cooperstown on the second ballot in 2011. Along the way he set the bar for second basemen by winning a record 10 Golden Glove Awards. Alomar spent three seasons with the Cleveland Indians from 1999-2001 in which this offered bat dates to, where he combined for 63 home runs and 309 RBI, all while maintaining a solid .323 batting average.
This two-colored Hoosier HB 600 model bat displays outstanding use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and bat rack streaks present on the barrel. The barrel also exhibits checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact and there is a light coating of pine tar on the handle and the handle itself has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. The knob end has also been taped in white and Alomar’s number “#12” has been hand written in gold marker on the knob along with “34/32” which identifies the bat’s length and weight. Alomar signed his name in gold marker on the barrel next to the Hoosier trademark and inscribed “12” and “HOF 2011”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B05784) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9. There is also a COA from PSA/DNA (U69854) and a Roberto Alomar 12 hologram authenticating his signature.
