Grandson of infielder Ray Boone, son of catcher Bob Boone, Bret Boone debuted in 1992 as the first-ever third-generation Major Leaguer. After seven campaigns in Seattle and Cincinnati, he joined the Braves in 1999 and made major contributions, with 20 HRs and 102 runs scored in the regular season, followed by torrid hitting in October. For the NLDS, he batted .438, and then upped that to .538 in the four-game World Series against the Yankees. Four of his seven Fall Classic hits were doubles! All in all, Boone racked up three All-Star appearances, four Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger Awards in his 14-year career.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first 1999 Braves player ring that has come to auction. The Jostens 10K-gold, size 11 showpiece features a diamond-studded "A" seated atop a blue stone, with the surrounding text "1999 National League Champions" accented by five additional diamonds. Elaborate shank designs tout the Braves 1990s achievements. NM condition. Accompanied by the large, elegant presentation box (6-1/4" x 7" x 4", NM) displaying an inlaid plaque on top, "Braves / 1999 National League Champions," and then Boone's signature on the underside. This item comes with a signed LOA from Bret Boone.
