Presented here is a Gene A. Budig Official American League baseball bearing the 1999 American League Championship Series logo. The 1999 ALCS saw the New York Yankees triumph over their bitter rivals, the Boston Red Sox, in five games. Orlando Hernandez won MVP honors, starting two games, winning one, and finishing with a 1.80 ERA over 15 innings.

The Yankees swept the World Series against the Atlanta Braves, giving the Yanks their 25th World Series title and third in four years. This baseball has been signed to the south of the sweet spot by Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter. Jeter signed this ball in blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from JSA (Z33166) for the signature only, but this ball does appear to have been used during the 1999 ALCS, and shows good evidence of such use. No evidence of game use is provided.
