Former Major League manager Jim Leyland won 1,769 games in 22 seasons as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers. Leyland spent his first 11 of those seasons in Pittsburgh, where he was Manager of the Year in 1990 and 1992, leading the Pirates to three consecutive National League East titles. Leyland also was Manager of the Year for the Detroit Tigers in 2006.

     Leyland spent his only season with the Colorado Rockies in 1999 where the team finished 72-90. Offered is the full uniform (jersey and pants) that were worn by Leyland during his only season in Denver. Leyland’s white with purple pinstripes jersey features “ROCKIES” sewn on across the chest in off-white, black and white tackle twill. The Russell Athletic size 44 jersey has the manufacturer’s tag sewn on the bottom front left tail with a “ 1” EXTRA BODY LENGTH” and “100% POLYESTER” flags. A team tag that reads “LEYLAND 44-11” is sewn on below the Russell tag. The back of the jersey has “LEYLAND” and his number “11” sewn on in black and silver tackle twill. The left sleeve has the “Colorado Rockies” patch and the right sleeve has a memorial “CHS” patch, honoring the victims of the Columbine High School tragedy. The jersey displays light use. Leyland signed his name vertically on the left “1” on the back of the jersey and inscribed “Game Used 1999” vertically on the right “1”. The matching Russell Athletic size 33 waist white with purple pinstripe pants have two buttons and a zipper in the front with two back pockets. The Russell Athletic tag is sewn on the inside back waist, along with the “11 LEYLAND 33-28-99” team tag. The pants display moderate use with residual dirt stains on the front and back and Leyland signed his name inscribed “Game Used 1999” in blue marker on the upper front left waist. This uniform set comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B53110) and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
