On April 15th, 1999 Jim Leyland won the 1,000th game of his managerial career, steering his Colorado Rockies to a 6-4 home victory over the San Diego Padres. The Rockies overcame a rare Tony Gwynn home run to hand starting pitcher Brian Bohanon his second win of the season. To the south of the sweet spot on this Official National League Leonard S. Coleman baseball, “1000th Win / April 15 / Colorado 6 / San Diego 4” is inscribed in blue pen. Leyland signed the baseball directly underneath the inscription. This item comes with a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (B54339).
