Offered in this lot is a navy Nike zip-up jacket issued USWNT legend Michelle Akers during the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The United States won their second FIFA Women’s World Cup at the Rose Bowl, defeating China in a penalty shootout after a scoreless 120 minutes. Akers played an excellent tournament, claiming the Bronze Ball and earning a spot on the tournament’s Best XI. This offered jacket is navy, with a US Soccer logo and a Nike swoosh on the chest. “USA” is sewn in white on the back. Akers’ number “10” is handwritten in black marker on the Nike size “L” tag. This jacket comes with a LOA from Michelle Akers. A portion of the proceeds shall benefit the Michelle Akers Horse Rescue & Outreach Inc.
