United States midfielder Michelle Akers was issued this Adidas windbreaker warm up jacket during the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Akers, the Golden Boot winner of the 1991 World Cup, played an important role in the United State Women’s National Team’s World Cup championship. Akers started and played 90 minutes in the tournament final against China, forced off due to injury before Brandi Chastain’s clinching penalty gave the United States their second World Cup title. Akers scored a pair of goals in the World Cup, bringing her career total to 12. Although Akers’ career tally has since been passed, her goals-per-game average is by far the best in FIFA Women’s World Cup history.

This offered Adidas windbreaker is a red and navy half-zip, with three white Adidas stripes on each arm. The hooded jacket features an abdominal pocket with a 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup patch and an Adidas logo. A second World Cup patch is present on the back. Akers has signed the chest of this jacket in black marker, inscribing “USA” and “1999 World Cup” in addition to her signature. This jacket comes with a LOA signed by Michelle Akers.
