2019 Winter Auction Closing March 2
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/2/2019
The late Tony Gwynn, eight-time NL batting champion with a .338 career BA, sported these Franklin game-used batting gloves on September 3, 1999 vs. the Florida Marlins, while collecting the 3,030th and 3,031st hits of his career. Gwynn’s signature appears severely faded in blue Sharpie on the “Franklin” logo patch on the top of both gloves. Below the Franklin logo on both gloves is the inscription 3030/3031, also in faded blue sharpie, next to the date 9/3/99 in black marker. The black and grey gloves are each fastened at the wrist with a Velcro strap featuring a “TAG” logo. The fingers on both gloves are each circled with 2 strips of white tape. The pair of gloves is accompanied by a COA signed by Gwynn’s widow Alicia Gwynn.
