Berkman hit a nice .297 after an early season call up to the Astros in 2000. The next year he lost a few points off his average, but his power increased to the tune of 42 home runs. These first two seasons in the Majors cemented his place alongside Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio as the Astros much-feared “Killer B’s.” Berkman’s 2000-01 Louisville Slugger C271 model bat shows excellent use with a double cracked handle. There is checking on the barrel from repeated ball contact and several ball marks can be seen. A moderate coat of pine tar coats the lower handle and Berkman has signed the upper barrel in black marker. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13182) for the game use and a COA from JSA for the signature.
