David Ortiz played the first six seasons of his MLB career with the Minnesota Twins before his move to the Boston Red Sox in 2003. Ortiz wore this gray Twins road jersey during the 2000 season, his fourth year with the Twins and the first in which he saw significant playing time. Ortiz played in 130 games in 2000, hitting .282 with 10 homers, 63 RBI, and 36 doubles for Tom Kelly’s penultimate Twins squad. Ortiz retired after the 2016 season and 20 years in the Major Leagues having hit 541 home runs with 1,768 RBI, 632 doubles, and a .286 batting average.

This offered Twins road jersey is a button-down with blue pinstripes and “MINNESOTA” sewn across the chest in red and navy tackle twill. Ortiz’s number “27” is sewn on the chest and back of the jersey in red and navy tackle twill. “ORTIZ” is sewn across the back shoulders in navy tackle twill over a matching gray nameplate. A Twins 40th season patch is sewn on the right sleeve above a red and blue Russell Athletic logo. A Twins patch and a “CRG” memorial patch for Calvin Griffith are sewn on the left sleeve. A MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. A Russell Athletic size “50” and “27-00-1” tags are sewn on the front left tail. “100% Polyester” and “2[inch] Extra Body Length” flags are attached to the Russell tag. Ortiz has signed the back of this jersey in black marker. The jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190115A8) and a LOA from JSA (Z77830) for the game use.
