Arguably the greatest hitting catcher of all-time, Piazza compiled some very impressive numbers in his 16-year career, knocking 427 home runs with 1,335 RBI and a .308 batting average. Drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 62nd round of the 1988 amateur draft as a favor to his father from manager Tommy Lasorda, Piazza was the 1993 NL rookie of the Year and a six-time All Star in Los Angeles but is perhaps best remembered for his eight years as a member of the New York Mets.

Piazza wore this black Rawlings catcher’s chest guard during the 2000 season with the Mets where he hit 38 home runs, drove in 113 with a lofty .324 batting average.
