The 2000 Winston Cup Winston Cup champion Bobby LaBonte won four races beginning with the second race of the season at Rockingham as well as the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis, the Southern 500 at Darlington and the fall race at Charlotte. The point standings leader for 25 consecutive weeks, he took over the lead in California (Rockingham) and never relinquished, finishing in front of second place Dale Earnhardt by 265 points with four wins, 19-top five finishes and 24 in the top ten.
This offered trophy was presented to Mark Roberston, a member of the Gibbs Racing Team. The front of this multi-tiered trophy has a 16 ½ x 6 ½-inch wood base with a gold plate on the front that reads in black “2000 NASCAR WINSTON CUP CHAMPION BOBBY LABONTE”. Above the wood base are two gold colored chalices and in between those cups is another wood base that is six inches tall with two plates. The first plate is red with “NASCAR Winston Cup Series” and the second plate is gold with “JOE GIBBS RACING” and a drawing of Bobby Labonte along with his auto-pen signature and #18. Above the second base is a gold colored cup with “W” on the top. The trophy measures approximately 21 inches tall. A small plate on the back is in gold and has printed in black “Presented to Mark Robertson For your contribution and dedication to winning the 2000 Nascar Winston Cup Series Championship”. The trophy is overall excellent condition.
