Throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s, Chipper Jones was among the best third baseman in baseball, a perennial All-Star who could hit for both power and average. In 2018, Jones was honored with induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, finding a spot in Cooperstown on his first ballot. The Atlanta Braves superstar compiled a .303 batting average for his career while crushing 468 home runs. Jones led the Braves to a World Series title in 1995, and claimed the 1999 National League MVP Award with a Triple Crown slash of .319/45/110. Jones, the 2008 National League batting champ, retired after the 2012 MLB season.

Presented here is Jones’ blue warm up jersey from the 2000 All-Star Game. Jones, coming off his 1999 NL MVP season, had another terrific year in 2000. The Florida native crushed 36 home runs and drove in 110 RBI, all while maintaining a sterling .311 batting average. This button-down, sleeveless jersey is made of a blue mesh fabric, and features “NATIONAL” sewn across the chest in white and red tackle twill. A “2000” patch is sewn above the “NAT” in “NATIONAL”. “JONES” and his number “10” are sewn on the back of the jersey in white tackle twill. A Majestic tag with an attached size “46” flag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Many of Jones’ All-Star teammates have signed this jersey, including the Hall of Famers Randy Johnson, Tom Glavine, Bobby Cox, and Barry Larkin. The remaining signatures include Joe Girardi, Jim Edmonds, Todd Helton, Andruw Jones, Dale Murphy, Gary Sheffield, Edgardo Alfonzo, Andres Galarraga, Brian Giles, Al Leiter, Mike Lieberthal, Edgar Renteria, Shane Reynolds, Buck Showalter, and Bob Wickman. These signatures have been written on the chest in gold marker. Additionally, 2018 Hall of Fame inductee Vladimir Guerrero signed the back of the jersey in black marker on the “1” digit.
