Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson had many stops along his 25-year journey in the Major Leagues. In 2000, he split time between them and the New York Mets and Seattle Mariners. Henderson picked up his 2,817th career during the first game of the 2000 season in Tokyo while he was still a member of the Mets. Henderson got his first hit of the 2000 season and 2,817th of his career with a single to left field during the bottom of the third inning off Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lieber. Later in the season Henderson was traded by the Mets to the Mariners and played in 92 games, helping Seattle reach the postseason.

This offered Mizuno MZA243 model bat was used by the all-time stolen base leader during the 2000 season and has been attributed to his 2,817th career hit. This bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. The barrel has various ball marks, stitch impressions and bat rack streaks. There is a light coating of pine tar on the handle and the lower handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. Henderson signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “Game Use Mets 2000” and “Hits #2817”. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15205), who have attributed this bat to his 2,817th hit graded this a perfect GU 10. There is also a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (C99677) for Henderson’s signature and inscriptions.
