In 2000, baseball saw its first Subway Series since 1956, when the New York Yankees took on the New York Mets in the Fall Classic. The Yankees won this series in five games, becoming the first team since the early 1970’s Oakland Athletics to win three consecutive World Series titles. This piece of sensational three-dimensional artwork was created by the noted sports artist Charles Fazzino. It depicts the New York City skyline, with three-dimensional renderings of Shea Stadium and Yankee Stadium in the foreground. Two diverging subway trains separate the two stadiums. Fazzino has signed the bottom of the artwork in gray pencil. This item comes in a 37 x 29 inch framed display.
