Hall of Fame ace Pedro Martinez wore this Rawlings glove with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009, his final season in the Majors. Martinez helped lead the Phillies to their second consecutive World Series appearance following their historic win in 2008, although they could not overcome the New York Yankees in a six-game Fall Classic. Martinez retired after the 2009 season and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015. Martinez was elected on his first try, appearing on over 91% of the ballots.
This Rawlings Pro 2000-4JR glove is blue with red accents. The web is a modified T-web, and the glove measures 12 inches. The glove features a conventional open back and a snap-fastened wrist strap with a black Rawlings wristband. A Rawlings tag is sewn on the wrist strap, and circular Rawlings logo is located on the back of the thumb. “Pedro Martinez” and “Paulino Martinez” are embroidered on the thumb in red. Paulino, Pedro’s father, passed away during the 2008 season. This glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00464).
