The great Cal Ripken Jr. wore this pair of Nike cleats for his final Opening Day on April 2nd, 2001 and continued wearing the cleats through April 17th. Ripken played in 12 games during this time period, collecting four RBI and a double in the year of his 19th MLB All-Star Game selection. Ripken, who retired after the 2001 season, was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. These offered Nike cleats are black, with an orange Nike swoosh sewn on both sides of the cleats. Ripken’s number “8” is embroidered on the lace guards in orange, while “C.R.” flanked by two Nike swooshes is embroidered on both heels in orange. The size 11.5 shoes feature six metal cleats on each sole, with a significant amount of dirt trapped on the bottom of the shoes! These come directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. with a signed LOA from Cal accompanying these game used cleats.
